This interactive online course will equip you to manage organisational investigations into safeguarding concerns. You will learn how to develop risk assessments and terms of reference and receive practical guidance on appointing an investigation team, reporting and managing stakeholder relationships.

This course will not train you to become a safeguarding investigator. It will equip you to manage the investigation process - to oversee the required steps and follow key principles of conducting an investigation.
By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Explain the fundamentals and key principles of managing a safeguarding concern
  • Describe the role and responsibilities of the investigation manager and investigation team
  • Develop an outline of a risk assessment
  • Review and improve an investigation plan
  • Manage stakeholder relationships throughout and beyond an investigation
  • Support an outcome that follows due process and is survivor and witness-focused
This course will be delivered entirely online, through facilitated live sessions (using Zoom) as well as individual and group activities on the Bond learning platform. It consists of 3 half-days of live interactive online sessions, plus group work between the sessions.
